Digg, is it realy worth it?

For a while the social media site digg was the most popular site on the web. Everyone and anyone used it for almost everthing. It provided links, it caused a page to be immediately cached. If you could convince enough people to digg your article then many millions would see the article and you would gain branding strength. There was even a rumor that Google wanted to buy the site for 200 million dollars.
All of a sudden rumor backed by fact confirmed that digg was not providing back links the way it used to. Many people stopped using Digg altogether. I personally forgot about it.
I guess digg heard the complaints and decided to do something about it. They are calling this the new Digg and according to Digg CEO Jay Adelson this upgrade of Digg will be cardinally different then the old Digg. I hope he is right.
The main problems with digg were the many false diggs that a user could manipulate to help him get his articles many more diggs. There were even companies who provided large of amount of Diggs for clients. The other problem was that people needed a long tedious sign up process to use the site.
Digg claims to have solved these issues in the very highly publicized release.
Do you Digg?

Cisco on the move

In a rather dramatic way Cisco announced that it would announce something that would change the face of the internet forever. There has been much speculation and anticipation leading up to this announcement but Cisco has kept everybody guessing.
Well here is my guess as well.
The announcement will focus the speed of the internet, that’s it. Doesn’t seem so dramatic? Think again, it will change the internet like the original high speed changed it. Right now the servers and modems cannot handle higher speed connections even when they are provided . The hardware is often the bottleneck . Cisco the king of hardware is going to change all that providing hardware that will be able to handle incredible amounts of info making the web something that it was not. Enormous amounts of data will be easily stored in data websites freeing one own computer to work faster and better. This will be connected to cloud computing that people have been talking about for so long but little has been actually done. People will buy storage domains just to put hese data and get it out of the way. They will be able to send enormous amounts of data to clients and associates as easily as they send a e-mail. It’s going to be great.
